State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) Initiated Surveys on Revision of Trademark Law
January 15, 2007It is recently released from the Financial and Economic Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) of China that SAIC has initiated surveys on the revision of Trademark Law. According to SAIC, new problems have arisen during the five years since the last revision, such as the standards for recognizing well-known trademarks and the handling of trademark infringement cases, which go against the standardization of administrative execution. To fulfill the need of economic development and IP protection, it is necessary to revise the Law again. The Financial and Economic Committee of the NPC suggests placing the Trademark Law into the legislation plan of the standing committee of NPC.
