22 Projects of China Listed in UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage
October 25, 2009On The 4th Meeting of Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO, which was held from September 28 to October 2, 22 Chinese projects were listed in the “UNESCO’s Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.” They are: the Dragon Boat Festival, Traditional Chinese Calligraphy, Chinese Traditional Seal Engraving, Chinese Paper Cutting, Chinese Block Printing, Chinese Traditional Wooden Structure Construction Technique, Chinese Traditional Silk Weaving Craft, Longquan Celadon Traditional Firing Technique, Matsu Customs, Nan-in, Nanjing Yunjin Weaving Craft, Rice Paper Traditional Production Technique, Dong Folk Songs, Cantonese Opera, Gesaer, Regong Art, Tibetan Opera, Manasi, The Blossom, Xi’an Drum, Chinese Korean Farm Music and Dance, Khoomei, Qiang Nationality Year, Traditional Textile Dyeing Embroidery Techniques of Li Nationality, Chinese Traditional Timber Arch Bridge Construction Technique. All were accepted as elements of “Intangible Cultural Heritage in Urgent Need of Safeguarding”.
