Fuji Denies DC Patent Infringement
October 16, 2004Fuji Denies DC Patent Infringement
World second photo film producer Fuji yesterday denied infringement of the digital camera patents of St Clair Intellectual Property Consultants Inc.
Last year St. Clair accused Fuji in infringement of its patents covering technology used in multiple-file format DC, seeking for 18 mln dollars in compensation
Fuji thinks its multiple-file format DC patents are completely different from St Clair’s. The company’s attorney Steven Routh stated that Fuji’s DC patents infringe nobody’s rights
St. Clair previously gained victory in two patent lawsuits, one of which made world second DC producer Canon pay 34,7 mln dollars in damages earlier this month, and the other forced world leading DC producer Sony disburse 25 mln dollars worth of patent fees last year.
