The Standing Committee of National People’s Congress Inspects for the Amendment of Patent Law
May 8, 2006With the approaching of the third amendment of the Patent Law, several deputy commissioners of the Standing Committee of National People’s Congress will be dispatched to different regions to inspect the implementation situation of the Patent Law as preparation for the amendment. On April 6, the SIPO promulgated the work emphasis for the year of 2006, one of which is to initiate the third amendment of the Patent Law, which will be presided by the Legislation Department in the following four steps: Firstly, strengthening the communication with Legislative Office of the State Council to place the third amendment of the Patent Law into the legislation agenda as soon as possible. Secondly, calling on the public to study the improvement of the Patent Law and its Implementation Regulations and to propose amendment in view of the newly arising trends and questions. Thirdly, taking the study of special topics for national IP strategy into joint consideration, and absorbing therefrom contents concerning the consummation of patent legal system construction as important reference for the amendment of the Patent Law. Lastly, submitting the proposed plan for the third amendment of the Patent Law to the Legislative Office of the State Council before the end of the year.
