2008 Survey White Paper on Commercial Value of Authentic Software Published
January 22, 2009The Information Week and Business Software Alliance (BSA) jointly published on December 12 the 2008 Survey White Paper on Commercial Value of Authentic Software.
Commencing in September of 2008, the survey analyzed the use of authentic software in large and medium-sized businesses in the areas of finance, manufacturing, media and entertainment, their commercial value to enterprises and the process toward using such software. It elaborated on the commercial value of authentic software and offered constructive opinions. Businesses surveyed were private ones, state-owned enterprises, solely owned by foreign capital, joint ventures and listed companies.
According to Zhang Quansheng, China division supervisor of BSA, “most Chinese companies lack overall awareness of authentic software as strategic assets, and remain at a low level in notion and practice in software management, which does no good for the process of using authentic software. A scientific management system is needed to help enterprises to use their software assets and give full play to their value so as to sharpen enterprises’ competitiveness”.
